Still as HOT as ever, have I mentioned before that I'm a fan of Utada Hikaru's music? Her new album, "This is the one" has just been released!
Her 1st hit song off the recent album is "Come Back to Me" as I heard it being played on mix.fm. Malaysia. I'm so happy with her come back in the music industry! She's the biggest pop artist in Japanese history and has had 12 number one hits to date, including four songs in Japan's all-time top 100.
Utada Hikaru has sold over 52 million records and she's only 26-years old! For those who haven't heard of her song yet, watch the video below! She still has that magic touch of her own which is identifiable if you listen to it again carefully. I'm amazed despite the shock when I heard this English song which came from her but nonetheless, I love it and I can't wait till it becomes a hit because I'm now more updated than those who haven't heard it yet! HAHA!

Best Peranakan-themed Drama
I'm talking about The Little Nyonya which debuted in Singapore last year! According to Wikipedia, "viewership figures showed that The Little Nyonya was the highest rated Channel 8 drama for 15 years, with an average viewership of 993,000 people. The finale itself was watched by 1,672,000 viewers, which roughly equaled to 33.85% of the TV viewing audience in Singapore."
I've heard about this drama since last Dec and it was also aired in Malaysia on Astro in 2009 but unfortunately, I did not subscribe that channel. I was very curious about this drama so I decided to surf the net to see if I could watch it online! It turns out that U-tube has it so I watched it online via u-tube mediacorp fan! Thanks for posting it and I hope Malaysia won't remove it! I started watching from 20th March and completed the drama on the 31st of March 2009. The part on the World War II was especially touching. I would highly recommend this drama to my friends! Even though my final exams is just few weeks away, it's too good to resist! Now I've to get down to serious studying and won't be blogging as often! Anyway, for those interested, you've just got to watch to believe how good the drama is!

History
As the saying goes, YESTERDAY is the past, TODAY is the present and TOMORROW is the future!
I'm only in my early 20s and I find it hard to believe that tomorrow, when I wake up, my country, Malaysia, will have a new Prime Minister sworn in. I may be too young to understand but I've already voted in the general election last March. I dare not think what will become of Malaysia in the future but I do hope for some outstanding improvements and changes which is probably unlikely to happen too soon.
I've witnessed the political Tsunami of 2008 and was a part of it! I've also witnessed the afternoon Tsunami of 26th December 2004 after the 9.3 magnitude earthquake off the Northwest coast of Sumatra swept Acheh, Indonesia to the ground. I'm sure the new PM should realize that tomorrow is still Year 2009 but then, it will be only another 10 years plus before Year 2020! What about the vision 2020 that our past PM has been talking about?

So reflecting what I feel now
Everything in this article is how I feel except for the introduction part where you get into an argument with a boyfriend, etc and me arguing with a girlfriend. I just needed to express myself after being mistreated by my girlfriends...and just a few days ago, a cancer patient's SOS has helped me to see with my own eyes through a rude jolt and realize that my having such friends is an OUCH worth putting into the dustbin and emptying after! I've since made a new friend who is a cancer patient who is younger than me but is different from those friends by a thousand miles.

But what do you do when the one that you are arguing with is your girlfriend? Who do you go to when you want to wail about the injustice of it all when she is the one treating you unfairly? Ouch - the complicated world of female relationships. Welcome to it.
Relationships among women can be the source of some of the most satisfying, giggle-inducing, nobody-understands-me-like-you joys of life. We pick up the phone after a tough day, our best friend answers, and we start with, "It happened AGAIN today..." She immediately knows what you're talking about; no small talk or introduction needed. How many conversations have you had with a girlfriend that sound something like this:
"Can you believe that?"
"No! What was he thinking?"
"I don't know!"
"I know what you mean."
"I mean, come ON!"
"Seriously."
"I'm so over it."
"Yeah. I don't blame you."
To the foreign (aka male) ear, that kind of girl-speak makes no sense whatsoever. But between girlfriends it expresses understanding, sympathy, and steadfast loyalty. Our relationships are a safe haven where we can be ourselves and be accepted.
There is a dark side to girl-friendships, however. Possessiveness, competition, and hypersensitivity run rampant among female relationships. You've heard the old saying: Two's company, three's a crowd. That saying is especially true with us. Far too often, girl-friendships fall apart because another female came between two best friends. It may not happen in every case, and when it does, it might not happen maliciously, but it definitely happens. It's as though we stake a territorial claim on our friends, we fly our flag on their land, and when another woman enters the picture, the terrain becomes uncomfortably congested. It makes me want to shout, "Why can't we all just get along?!"
So how do we deal with arguments between our closest and most-trusted girlfriends? The worst part about these kinds of quarrels is that, because we have divulged most of our secrets, dreams, and fears to the person we are in conflict with, they usually include the most painful, straight-to-the-heart jabs. These are the wounds that take so long to heal - much longer than cuts, bruises, and broken bones. It's easy to brush off a rude stranger's actions or a snobby coworker's comments. It isn't so easy, though, to forget the hurtful words that came out of your girlfriend's mouth in the heat of an argument. Likewise, it's very difficult to take those words back if you were the one who spoke them. The question we have to ask ourselves is this: Is the relationship worth fixing? Can it even be repaired? If the answer is yes, then that girl-friendship will be stronger than ever and will withstand the test of time. If the answer is no, then it may be time to move on. Chalk it up to a learning experience, and be grateful for the good times you shared.

My Valentine Surprise!
I love surprises but the next thing that happened was beyond my imagination! I did not think he was so serious when he hinted that he had already bought me flowers and comment that I spoiled his idea by posting a blog on flowers and what the number of stalks received means. I wasn't hinting that I want flowers. I was studying at that time when my best friend sent me a link on this, okay? (She knows who she is :p)
You see, my darling is leaving for Penang yesterday and I was too excited to get more sleep so I was up by 6.30am.
I tried to study but I was too sleepy and so I did other things. At 8.30am, he came online. We chatted for a while until 9.10am when he got disconnected (dc). I called him so that he would come online again. Then I realized it was me who got dc. LOL! As I talked to him, I asked if he has left for Pg and he said no! Well, no surprise but he did sound cool and calm but a bit tense when I asked that question. It was as if I had gone mad! (Hehe!)
I talked to him until 10.20am and then I studied a bit. I took a short nap at 10.50am due to my sleepiness as I have a class that night so sleep was vital. At 11.50am, I was awaken by the door bell!
I was surprised beyond words when I saw the florist holding a bunch of flowers and it was for me. Red roses from my darling that is. My first reaction was to call him after thanking the florist for the best ever delivery! His first words was something like "Finally,you received it already? So, do you like it?"
LIKE? Are you kidding me? I LOVE IT!!! I can't believe his calm voice! I can't wait to give him a kiss for the surprise yesterday night! Haha!
And of course, I could not concentrate on studies alone anymore until class at 6.15pm. I was also looking forward to seeing him at night that time passed by quite fast in class!
Some of the notes he requested to be written to me! SIGH! The florist spelled his name wrongly!!! BUT the note is still sweet!
Flowers are classic and it was the sweetest thing ever! It melts hearts!
The first hint of his love for me! :D
Guess how many stalks are there? *ahem*
Today may not be my birthday but it is still the best ever surprise and I'm the happiest girl in the world! (NOTHING can bring me down!)

Excited
I looked as if I haven't slept for a few weeks. I slept at 12.00am last night which is considered early for me.
I was awake at 6.30am, which means only my youngest brother is awake since he has got to go to school. Sigh! I could not sleep anymore so I decided to get up at 7.00am to do whatever or study?! I am too excited about meeting my darling today. I hope I can last right up til my darling is back home or I might need a short nap.
I have to study as I have a lecture at 6.30pm - 9.30pm. After that, I'm free to go.
No words to describe this excitement! Maybe just one, his coming back has become "an inspiration" for me to attend all my extra classes for this weekend!

Sun (01/03/09) : 9.00am - 3.00pm
There goes my lovely precious weekend! Sigh!

Life Is About Correcting Mistakes
Karen married John today.
At the end of the wedding party, Karen's mother gave her a newly opened bank saving passbook. With RM1000.00 as the deposited amount.
Mother: 'Karen, take this passbook. Keep it as a record of your marriage life. When there's something happy and memorable that happens in your new life, put some money in. Write down what it is about next to the line. The more memorable the event is, the more money you can put in. I've done the first one for you today. Do the others with John. When you look back after many years, you can know how much happiness you've had.'
Karen shared this with John when she got home. They both thought it was a great idea and were anxious to know when the second deposit can be made. This was what they did after a certain time has elapsed:
- 7 Feb: RM100.00, first birthday celebration for John after marriage
- 1 Mar: RM300.00, salary raise for Karen
- 20 Mar: RM200.00, vacation trip to Bali
- 15 Apr: RM2000.00, Karen got pregnant
- 1 Jun: RM1000.00, John got promoted ...... and so on...
However, after years, they started fighting and arguing for trivial things. They didn't talk much. They regretted that they had married the most nasty people in the world.... no more love...Kind of typical nowadays, huh?
One day Karen talked to her Mother:
'Mom, we can't stand it anymore. We agree to divorce. I can't imagine how I decided to marry this guy!!!'
Mother: 'Sure, girl, that's no big deal. Just do whatever you want if you really can't stand it. But before that, do one thing first. Remember the saving passbook I gave you on your wedding day? Take out all money and spend it first. You shouldn't keep any record of such a poor marriage.'
Karen thought it was true. So she went to the bank, waiting at the queue and planning to cancel the account. While she was waiting, she took a look at the passbook record. She looked, and looked, and looked. Then the memory of all the previous joy and happiness just came up her mind. Her eyes were then filled with tears. She left and went home.
When she was home, she handed the passbook to John and asked him to spend the money before getting divorce.
The next day, John gave the passbook back to Karen. She found a new deposit of RM5000.00. And a line next to the record: 'This is the day I notice how much I've loved you throughout all these years. How much happiness you've brought me.'
They hugged and cried, putting the passbook back to the safe.
Do you know how much money they had saved when they retired? I did not ask. I believe the money did not matter any more after they had gone through all the good years in their life.

Good Friends Are Hard To Find
Where there is a WILL, there is a WAY, Where there is MONEY, there are many WAYS.
Where there is MONEY, there are many FRIENDS and RELATIVES
I've just cleared up my contact list and realized how many friends I really have that cares about me. I'm sure it takes two hands to clap. If a friend appreciates your friendship and you appreciate theirs, no matter what the situation is, I'm sure there is always a place, a time, and good conversations to begin with. Actually, I think they need to like us too; this is just common sense because if you don't like that person, will you even take the effort to talk to him/her and try to create conversations or ways to keep-in-touch? Of course no right?
Well, don't feel too sad. In this life, some people appreciate your friendship and some just don't. Some are born to love you and some are not.
So to all my friends, your friendship has meant understanding, joy, sharing - everything good. Because of you, I've laughed a little harder, cried a little less, smile a lot for no special reason. Because of you, my worlds is a happier place. Because of you, I felt the warm embrace of a good and lasting friendship.

Little Tommy!
Introducing my dog; Tommy!! Actually, it came to my house looking for food, shelter and love during one Hari Raya Puasa in 2006. Somehow, it did not want to leave my house so we decided to feed it some food upon realizing it was hungry that it had refused to leave my house. Soon, we took care of its meal and even bathed it regularly.
A few weeks later, it's owner came looking for it and it did not want to go home. Tommy always played with the owner but at night, always came back to our home. The owner, an Indian lady however was too poor to feed it, so we decided to let Tommy stay. At that time, I was studying in KL. Sometimes, even Tommy has more decent meals than I do.
It loved to play with stray dogs so the problem of dog lice existed for some few months. It met with an accident twice whereby there was once we even had to take it to the vet for an injection.
Poor Tommy but it never learnt its lesson hence it met with another minor accident few weeks into its 1st accident recovery. Tommy was also lucky since we bought dog food for it and even pay for its medical treatment.
Tommy left us to return to its Indian owner few months ago. It has not been staying with us since last September. I think it is because Tommy dislikes taking baths. However, it does frequently visits us. Yesterday a miracle happened. Tommy came home and visited all of us. It was wagging its tail so much I think it would fall off. I really miss Tommy and I'm so happy to see it again. It left quite late at night after marking its territory! IT's a DOG's LIFE!

Gratitude To My Love
Instead of the norm, I wanted to try something unique and different. So I went online to browse for a bit of ideas and I came across jelly cakes but unfortunately they are only based in KL at the moment. So I decided to try these special cupcakes as they have a few based in Penang now.
Since it is an online homemade business, I had to pre-ordered it by email. It helped that they actually advertise their business location as it made me feel more confident about trying out. I simply called up the number on the website: http://cupcakes4you.blogspot.com/ and some few weeks ago, Joo Sing finally made the sweetest cupcakes for me and my loved ones.
This is the surprise I had for my bf. I'm so happy today. To my surprise, he cooked dinner for me as well. His cooking is really delicious and tasty and we had the cupcakes as dessert. I'm glad he really liked the cupcakes and it was so cute. Since it was my first time ordering, I asked Joo Sing to design it for me and I decided to order the Vanilla with chocolate chip flavour. Ok everyone, go ahead and enjoy my pictures!

Surprise in the bag
I'm so excited because after planning for nearly 3 weeks, finally I got a positive reply that she will help me make it come true. Although she took some time to reply my email, I'm sure it will all be worth the wait!

My Bittersweet Failure = Me
What is failure?
I had this conversation today with my friend.
She said: I'm so useless.
I told her: I failed many times too.
Failure is a stepping stone to success.
You have to make the mistake first, then you see where you went wrong!
Therefore when you fail, next time you'll succeed.
Everyone goes through it at some point in their life.
She said: Then it's all right to fail?
I told her: That's true! This is a matter of trust. Whoever looks down on you, I'll back you up. You have me. We'll do our best together. Let's get good grades, etc! We want to tell our loved ones that we have made it! We pass the test! We also want to tell them that we got good grades!
Today I was reminded:
Failure is a stepping stone to success...Because you fail, you will succeed!
My dear friend, if you have problems, don't hesitate to say. I'll help you no matter what!
It's difficult now to make it. I have to make it this time. I won't give up no matter what! Never! I can't do many things...but, I'll do my best to do things! But if I can't do it, I'll get help from my loved ones to my lecturers. They are the guide who will light my life. So even if I fail, it will be okay because I will face it and get help from others. We'll all do it together!(A silent voice in my head said: That's the spirit! You have potential. All that is left is for you to believe in yourself!)
While watching Daisuki! (I Love You!), a Japanese Drama, I was reminded of many things which includes to be kind always.
I've failed in many things. I failed in my studies. I failed in my driving test. I failed in love. I failed in working. But the most heart-wrenching is I failed also in friendships. All this happened in my life recently...but no matter what, no one's life is perfect.
I may not have friends, but I still have many things in my life. I have a loving family who stands by me no matter what. They believe in me although I lack confidence in everything I do. They worry for me whenever I have exams. I have a beautiful family who supports each other. I am proud of my family. I am blessed to be a part of them. Most of all, I realize, it is my family who will always be there for me whenever I am down, I need help, I need money, I need encouragement & even when I fail. They never look down on me, not even once. I have two siblings and loving parents. I'm also blessed with a few good people in my life. One of them is my boyfriend whom I lovingly call Wei Wei. He is my pillar of strength, my confidant, and my soul mate. He knows how to bring out the best in me. Sometimes, I dunno how he stands me. I also have Diana Ang, Gerrine Chin, Chloe Ooi and Denise Teoh who will be in the same battle with me for my exams this year. Oh, without all of you, I'd be so lost in life. I hope God will never take you all away from me!
Looking forward to my exam in May this year!

Daisuki (I Love You)
This is a girl whose story touches my heart. She is from Beijing and the lady next to her is her teacher. She is the team leader of her dancing troop. She has the looks of a normal girl and is very happy but actually she is hearing-impaired.
I really admire how she has managed to dance without knowing the sound of the music and she does it gracefully. They were recently in Malaysia. She should be an inspiration to everyone who is challenged in many ways in their life right now and needs some encouragement. If she can do it, why can't we? She really does remind all of us about the simple things in life and some of which we may have either taken for granted or forgotten!
I also recently finished watching a Japanese drama called Daisuki (I Love You). It is about a Yuzu, a 23-year-old mentally disabled woman with the mind of an 8-year-old, who falls in love with Sosuke, a man with a similar disability. After Sosuke is involved in a fatal accident, Yuzu discovers she is 5 months pregnant with his child. Though Yuzu is intent on having the child, her mother, Miyoko, is immediately against it. After her family comes to terms with her pregnancy, Yuzu eventually gives birth to her daughter, Himawari. With many odds against her, Yuzu does her best to care for the daughter she so dearly loves.
It is a good movie to watch. Touching storyline although a bit slow.

We all carry our mobile phones with names & numbers stored in its memory but nobody, other than ourselves, knows which of these numbers belong to our closest family or friends.
If we were to be involved in an accident or were taken ill, the people attending us would have our mobile phone but wouldn't know who to call. Yes, there are hundreds of numbers stored but which one is the contact person in case of an emergency? Hence this "ICE" (In Case of Emergency) Campaign
The concept of "ICE" is catching on quickly. It is a method of contact during emergency situations. As cell phones are carried by the majority of the population, all you need to do is store the number of a contact person or persons who should be contacted during emergency under the name "ICE" ( In Case Of Emergency).
The idea was thought up by a paramedic who found that when he went to the scenes of accidents, there were always mobile phones with patients, but they didn't know which number to call. He therefore thought that it would be a good idea if there was a nationally recognized name for this purpose. In an emergency situation, Emergency Service personnel and hospital Staff would be able to quickly contact the right person by simply dialing the number you have stored as "ICE."
For more than one contact name simply enter ICE1, ICE2 and ICE3 etc. A great idea that will make a difference!
Let's spread the concept of ICE by storing an ICE number in our Mobile phones today!

Happy New Year 2009!
This is my first New Year with my bf. Unfortunately, I fell sick on Sunday. I vomited 3times after eating Domino's BBQ pizza and had an allergy after my sister's birthday too. However I did not see the doctor because I was too stubborn. Anyway, since I'm sick and there is nothing much for me to do, I'm watching this drama called "When Easterly Showers Falls on The Sunny West" because Charmine Sheh is acting in it. It has just been released and I think I can finish it soon since I'm sick now.
Anyway, my New Year celebrations were not all that disappointing although I had to turn down a few invitations because I was not feeling well. In fact, my younger brother was having a BBQ party at home itself. Also, Diana asked me to a buffet dinner at Tao e-gate.
I still got to spend it with Wei Wei. He took good care of me that day and also cooked this porridge for me and it never taste better. He is a good cook so don't you dare say anything bad about him!! Unfortunately, it was too little for a hungry person like me...hehe...I wonder when will he cook for me again?
